Lethbridge Little Leaguers Dream of Williamsport

The Lethbridge Thunderbirds continued their remarkable run through the Western Canada Little League tournament, defeating the Saskatoon Sluggers 8-2 on Saturday to advance to the regional semifinals.

Pitcher Marcus Delgado threw a complete-game four-hitter, striking out 11 batters while the Thunderbirds offense erupted for four runs in the third inning.

"This team believes in each other," said manager Rick Santos. "They play for the love of the game, and the whole community has rallied behind them."

A community watch party is planned at Henderson Lake Park for the semifinal game, with local businesses providing free refreshments for families.
