Medicine Hat Launches First Youth Rugby Program

A new rugby program for ages 8-16 launches this fall, made possible by community advertising that keeps registration under $100.
Medicine Hat will welcome its first organized youth rugby program this fall, with registration capped at just $95 per player thanks to advertising revenue from local business partners.
The program, run in partnership with the Medicine Hat Rugby Club and Prairie Mountain News, will introduce non-contact rugby to younger age groups before progressing to full contact at the U14 level.
"We want every kid in Medicine Hat to have the chance to try rugby," said program director James O'Brien. "Community advertising makes that possible by keeping costs low and equipment provided."
